Written examination: A written test will be conducted for selecting the candidates. It will have objective type questions based on essential/desirable qualifications covering the following aspects:

The appointment of provisionally selected candidates will be strictly based on the merit position based on performance, subject to satisfaction of Document Verification, Medical Examination and another requirement as specified by the Government of India and Appointing Authority.
Document Verification: All relevant documents pertaining to, age, education, identity, address, category, caste, Service etc. will be scrutinized and verified prior to provisional appointment as per extant DOP&T policy. Date and venue for document verification will be intimated to the provisionally selected candidates on their e-mail IDs / by post.

(v) General Awareness on Fire Fighting- This test will include questions on knowledge of Fire Fighting, operational use of Fire Fighting Equipment’s, life savings drills, causes of fire etc.
(vi) Physical Fitness Test (PFT): The applicant should be medically and physically fit to undertake duty of chowkidar:-
(aa) Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
(bb) PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squats (Uthak Baithank) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
